That photo on the right wasn’t luck. It was years of discipline. Dialing in nutrition. Changing routines. Figuring out what actually works and what doesn’t. I ran that half-marathon at nearly 50 at a sub-seven-minute pace because I was willing to adjust, stay consistent, and keep pushing forward.
That same mindset shows up in how I work with banks and fintechs. I’m constantly looking at what’s changing, whether it’s new data sources, better analytics, or how AI and decisioning platforms can actually be applied in the real world. Not theory. What works. What scales. What drives measurable results.
At the end of the day, it’s the same game. Test, adjust, and execute. That’s how you get stronger performance, whether it’s on the road or inside a lending operation.
My Sons Are My Why
My sons, Peter and Ben, are my anchor. Fatherhood has shaped how I lead, how I listen, and how I keep perspective.
Like any family, we have lived through real life, real challenges, and real growth. That matters to me because it keeps me grounded. It reminds me that leadership is not about having a perfect story. It is about showing up in the present with honesty, accountability, and consistency.
The same values I care about as a father carry into my professional life. Be steady. Be direct. Be someone people can count on when things get hard.
Tanner Keeps It Simple
Tanner is a rescue dog and one of the best parts of my day! She is a Border Terrier mix, about 10 years old, and she has a way of bringing everything back to what matters.
No matter how tough the day has been, she is there. Ready to go. Ready to reset. Ready for the next mile. We went on a six-mile hike today, and that simple rhythm of moving forward, staying present, and appreciating what is right in front of you is something I value more and more.
For me, that perspective matters in life and in business. Stay grounded. Stay loyal. Keep moving.
